VISION: HEALING THE BLIND IN ETHIOPIA

Short documentaries

Director: Eric Perlman

Length: 16 minutes

VISION is the story of five blind Ethiopian farmers and housewives, helpless and hopeless and waiting for death. We follow their lives from darkness, through a simple surgical process, to the astonishing moment that sight returns and their lives become wonderfully normal and productive again. A year and a half later, we see what has changed in the lives of these patients and their families and their communities. Does sight restoration make a difference? There are 20 million people blind from cataracts in the world. Most can be healed in minutes. VISION is their story.
